This app is a joke

Disconnects between every cleaning so that I have to keep pairing it, which takes a long time. Keeps giving me messages to upgrade app but there are no upgrades to be found. All links to help and FAQs, as well as to change the password, end in “page not found”. Luckily the vacuum can be used by just pushing a button, without the app. Will not buy this brand again, incredibly disappointing.

Old firmware, old software

Seems that Neato moved on to new robots and not caring about existing Neato owners (e.g. D7). Did get a message «App update required» but no update was available and had not been the last year. Nothing worked until I found a thread on Reddit that suggested to do a hard reset of the robot and a log out/in cycle of the app that solved this issue (no hint was given in the app or FAQ). Sadly to say, my next robot will be a Roborock.

For varierende kvalitet på app og robot

Appen er ustabil og roboten er også veldig ustabil i kvaliteten på støvsugingen. Av og til kan den avslutte støvsugingen etter å bare ha støvsugd halve rommet. Mens andre ganger støvsuger den hele rommet grundig og uten noe problem.

Missing some features

The app is OK, but in todays market I think it is missing som essential features.

The first I miss the most are the possibility to mark more then one room to clean without cleaning the whole floorplan.

The second one is being able to see the vacuum on the floorplan live as it cleans.

I can also add that the floorplan should update either while cleaning or after cleaning. Now we have to delete the floorplan and create a new one to get it updated.

After my d7 cleans up my room, I need Dyson to clean it again. You can guess how useful it is. After you move a furniture, you want to make a new map, d7 will not go to the place where you had the furniture. How stupid!

Feil i app

Kan ikke lenger styre den via appen, appen sier den er «ready to clean»mens den jobber. Ikke mulig å parkere den. Lydsignal fra app til maskin virker derimot, så det tyder jo på at det er en form for forbindelse mellom app og maskin.. Får heller ingen feilmeldinger når den kjører seg fast i dørterskler...

Får ofte beskjed om at robot er offline selv om den støvsuger som vanlig, men får ikke brukt appen. På tide med en oppdatering som fikser dette.

Floor plans are broken / Reliance on external server is intentional bad design

“Can’t recognise floor plan. If problem persists please remove the current and add a new floor plan.”

You can’t remove a floor plan if there isn’t at least two of them.

“This looks similar to an existing floor plan. Please move the charging base to create a new.”

Seriously? This is so incredibly bad design, I don’t know it it’s incompetence or intentional. You have to move the base around because they couldn’t (be bothered) to 1) delete ALL floor plans, 2) make it just make a new regardless if where the base is.

And yeah, all this should be (and is easily) possibly to do locally, on my phone and in the robot’s internal memory. Having to go through Neato’s servers is intentional Dark Pattern (and bad and insidious) design choices.

Constantly needs repairing

The app could be more intuitive and easy to understand. How does spot cleaning work? I have no idea :( Also you need to constantly re-pair the robot cause it seems to loose connection to the net.

Håpløs software

Modell D7.

Ustabil funksjonalitet, ofte ikke online. Planlagt rengjøring kobles ikke inn i ca 50% av gangene. Start via appen svikter i 100% av gangene; den kjører en halvmeter ut, «tenker seg om», og parkerer igjen. Ved manuell start bruker den ikke innlastet kart med no-go-soner.

Støvsuger bra og nøye, skulle vært 1 cm lavere slik at den kom under sofaen. Fikser det med 3 bøker under sofaen.

Appen og nettsiden er veldig ofte ute av drift. Alle feilmeldinger som kommer opp i app og som du kan «tap to learn more» på nettsiden viser i 99% av tilfellene kun «error».

Utrolig teit?

Er det virkelig slik at Neato bare kan stres av en mobiltelefon? Dvs at når jeg koblet meg opp mot Neato så ble min kone automatisk koblet av? Når hun nå tok «kontrollen» over den igjen, så mistet jeg den.

D3 connected

Det er en evig kamp med ganske ny d3 connected for å få den å fungere. Problemer etter problemer. Savner min samsung som fungert i 8 år nesten uten problemer.

Kundestøtte gjennom epost har vært fantastisk, flinke ansatte. Chat-støtte har vært elendig.

Often it shows offline mode so we constantly need to pair it again. A little frustrating! It's a shame this happens because the app itself is very well built, very intituive and all the functions work very well.

Shuts down when logging on

Older version offers downloaded to iPhone4, but the app shuts down when pressing OK after typing email+password...
