Stopped support for expensive fan

I bought a high quality fan. Apple HomeKit integration is absolutely minimal and ‘full feature control’ is apparently available via app… but they deleted fan from the app. So no access to control fan despite what their homepage says. This sadly means I won’t buy anything from them again, despite quality products. Cannot risk losing key features without warning.

Nothing is possible to activate in this app. How disappointing.

Smartmi Link has revoked your Sign in with Apple account

I used the email forwarding feature from Apple, but the devs of this app blocked my account so I will have to add a new email to the account next time I launch the app.

Someone going to these extreme lengths to get your data is doing more than providing an air cleaner for your home. I will be sending all 6 of my new Smartmi devices back and buying a different brand that is less shady. I recommend everyone avoid these guys as much as possible.

App seems very sketchy

You don’t need to download the app to use the purifier and in my opinion, DONT! It wants everything from you, GPS, pictures, microphone, photos, camera and “other necessary information”. They also want your internet and internet password! Why the f@ does an air purifier need all of this? Because they want to sell you a professional look on the outside but deep down track all your information and sell it further. The purifier is great. It does the job well and looks good. But the app is disappointing.

Don’t download the app, instead plug it in and live with the 3 different configurations! 😤

I would give the app 1/5 stars

and the purifier 5/5

Fin i utseende å bråker ikke stort annet enn når du trykker på den. Men at appen krever tillgang til bilder og mikrofon samt kamera for å virke er bare piss. Hadde ikke kjøpt den om jeg viste det på forrhånd. Får lagt den inn i Apple home uten å koble til å smartmi appen så du får brukt å styrt uten dems app.

CCP ser deg

Appen fungerer kun dersom gir tilgang til absolutt alt. Stedstjenester, kamera, bilder, enheter på Wi-fi, Home-kit, bluetooth. Alt. Den låser deg og «hiver deg ut» umiddelbart hvis du skrur av stedstjenster for appen. Så for å lage en egen viftehastighet, vil luftrenseren vite hvor du er til enhver tid. Det gir ingen mening. Hva i alle dager skulle de trenge den dataen til? Det er en luftrenser!

Privacy issues etc.

App wants me to type wi-fi NAME and PASSWORD or else it wont work. Im not doing that. Pluss they want location services on, for what reason? Like why would an air purifier need location services, it doesnt work without it. So no thank you.
